When the 50 gr. fmj ammo from several manufacturers bounced off of a 55 gallon metal drum, making only a thumb-sized indention from 5 feet away, I decided to try some of the Magsafe ammo. The Magsafe 22 gr. Defender ammo fired from a Colt .25 Auto at 5 feet put a hole in the drum that I could stick my thumb through! Amazing difference in power level. I hope that I never have to use a .25 ACP pistol to defend my life. If I ever do have to use one, I intend for it to be loaded with Magsafe''s 22 gr. Defender. It more than doubles the energy of the standard 50 gr. fmj load. I would hesitate to use it in a cheap .25 auto, but in a Colt, Browning, Taurus, Beretta, or Walther, I think it would greatly increase the effectiveness of this anemic cartridge. It just MIGHT be enough to save your life.

The ammo cycles fine in a Browning .25 auto. I did some tests and didn''''t see very much if any expansion of these rounds. I''''ve heard that with the low velocity and size of a .25, nothing is going to expand much. That seems to be the case. I recently found some Hornady Critical Defense for a .25 that seems to expamd a little bit better ]though not much[ and it''''s a lot cheaper than the MagSafe.
