So far so good! I mounted a 2x Vortex scope in Weaver rings on a 45 colt Blackhawk using this base. I''ve ran loads with a 250 grn bullet up to 1300 fps without having the point of impact shift. Only complaint I have is when you put the front base holder over the barrel it is a very tight fit and left a very slight mark on the bluing on my gun. I still think the mark is better than having to drill and tap the top strap. I wouldn''t hesitate to recommend this mount to a consumer wanting to scope their pistol for hunting.

This mount fit my 44 Black hawk perfectly. I have not fired the gun yet but it seems to hold the scope firmly. You have to take the rear sight off the pistol first but that only takes a couple minutes. You don''t have to drill holes in your gun which hurts its value.

I bought this sight mount for my 3-screw Ruger blackhawk. I had a EOTech optic to mount on it. The mount itself went on very easy and securely and I didn''t see any maring on the barrel from the clamp that holds that end. The only issue I had was this mount is made for a scope to the cross slots either mounted my optic way forward or way back. I was able to mill another cross slot but for those who don''t have access to a milling machine not entirely a dealbreaker. I am quite happy with it and held the optic securely during sight in.

Took 10 minutes to install and works great. Small hammer and a punch(small nail) to drive out cross pin, screwdriver and supplied allen wrench, and done. Shot 100 rounds and mount hasn''t moved at all.

IF YOU ARE CAREFUL SLIPPING THE MOUNT ON THE BARREL IT WON,T MAR THE FINISH AS SOME SAY IT DID.AS FOR IT COMING LOOSE,I HAVE NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM.MY FIRST ONE IS ON THE SUPER BLACKHAWK,7 1/2 INCH BARREL AND THIS ONE IS FOR THE 10 1/2 INCH BARREL.ANYONE WANTING TO MOUNT A SCOPE ON THE SUPER BLACKHAWK,THIS IS IT.
